# Connecting Heap

[Heap](https://www.heap.io) is analytics platform that gives you insights into your customers' digital journeys so you can optimize their experience.

HelpDocs integrates with Heap to make it easy for you to track customer journeys on your Knowledge Base.

### Connecting Heap

1. In your [Heap dashboard](https://heapanalytics.com/login)
   
   1. Head to **Account** > **Install**
   2. Click on **Web** > **Code**
   3. Copy the `APP_ID` from the code snippet
      
      ```javascript

2. In your [HelpDocs dashboard](https://my.helpdocs.io)
   
   [Embedded iframe](https://player.vimeo.com/video/814661987)
   
   1. Head to **Settings** &gt; **Integrations** &gt; **Analytics**
   2. Next to **Heap** click **☰ More** &gt; **Connect**
   3. Enter the `APP_ID` you copied
   4. Hit **Save Changes**
