# Subscribing to a Plan for the First Time

Subscribing to [a paid plan](https://www.helpdocs.io/pricing) in HelpDocs is super simple. All you'll need is a credit/debit card for payment and your billing address.

Only certain [user roles](https://support.helpdocs.io/article/CaKSeF9kSP-managing-user-roles) can manage billing

### Subscribing to a Plan

1. Head to **Settings** > **Billing**
2. Choose **Monthly** or **Yearly** billing in the top left
3. On the plan you'd like to subscribe to click **Subscribe**
4. You'll see:
   
   1. The billing breakdown on the left
   2. The billing form on the right
5. Add billing address, card details, and if you have one, tax number on the right
6. Click **Subscribe**

In a few moments your new plan will be selected you'll be good to go ✅

We use [Stripe](https://www.stripe.com/) to process all our subscriptions. Your card details are never stored on our servers and everything's securely encrypted
