# Creating a Similar Article

Want to start a new blank article in the same place? That's what the *Create a Similar Article* button does: it starts a new, empty draft that shares the original's place in your Knowledge Base. It's the quickest way to add the next article in a series without picking the category and author again.

### How to Create a Similar Article

1. Open an article in the editor
2. Click the ⋯ More button in the top right
3. Pick **Create similar article** or **Duplicate article**

The new article opens straight away in the editor.

If you have unsaved changes, the option reads as **Save and create similar**. Your current article is saved first. If the save doesn't go through, no new article is made.

**Create similar vs Duplicate:** *Create similar article* gives you a blank draft in the same category with the same author. *Duplicate article* makes a full copy of the original, including its content, tags and settings. Need the full story on copying? Check out [Duplicating an Article](/article/kbpry0346y-duplicating-an-article).
