# Support for Right-to-left and Regional Languages

HelpDocs supports right-to-left (RTL) languages such as Arabic, and regional variants of a language such as UK English or Canadian French. This article explains how each one works. To turn on multilingual publishing and add your languages, see [Setting Up Multilingual](/article/43QNppaDit-setting-up-multilingual-docs).

### Regional language variants

Some languages have regional variants. Languages with regional variants show an arrow in the language list. Hover over the arrow to pick a locale such as `en-GB`, or type the locale's name or code to find it.

If you can't find the language you need, get in touch and we'll see what we can do.

### Right-to-left languages

If you add a right-to-left language such as Arabic, HelpDocs tells you whether your template fully supports right-to-left layouts.

You can always write articles in right-to-left languages. On some templates, however, the page layout stays left-to-right unless you customize it.
