# Changing the Language in Common Phrases

Bom dia! 👋 If you're looking to support non-English and international customers with HelpDocs you can change the contents of strings to match the language.

For example, you can replace the '*Help me with...*' string in the search bar above with '*Aidez-moi avec...*' for French-speaking users or even '*Search by typing here*' if you'd prefer an alternative English phrase.

Looking to add a little character? Insert an emoji into the phrases to make things interesting 🙊

Using our V4 or V5 template and want to change "Hey! How can we help?" to something else? Use the **Welcome** string 🎆

### Changing the Language in Common Phrases

1. Head to **Settings** > **Language** > **Strings** (or [click here](https://my.helpdocs.io/app/settings?tab=language))
2. Scroll down to the **Knowledge Base** section
3. If you're [translating](/article/NjjPixGLuy-translating-your-docs) the strings change the language in the dropdown
4. Type in the phrase(s) you'd like to replace below the default phrase
5. Hit **Save Changes**
