Improved

Translate articles with the original right beside you.

What it is

Switch to a secondary language, open an article you haven't translated yet, and the original copy now turns up in a panel on the right. Article details plays along too. The title, slug, description and short version each show their default language version underneath, with a button that drops it straight into the field you're editing. Then you translate over the top.

Why we built it

Manual translation used to be a two-tab affair. Write in one, squint at the original in the other, flip back, lose your place, flip again. A blank editor is also a rough place to start a translation, because you end up rebuilding every heading and bullet before you've translated a single sentence.

Bring the original across first and the shape of the article is already right, so you can get on with the part that actually needs you.

How to get started

Pick a secondary language from the switcher at the top of your sidebar, then open any untranslated article. The panel shows up on its own. Click the copy button beside a field to pull the original in, then write over it.

Your Spanish is still your own business. Hunting down the source text isn't.
