Let's face it—billing hiccups happen to the best of us. Maybe your credit card expired, an invoice slipped through the cracks, or you changed financial details.

Troubleshooting Billing Issues

Solution

Overdue invoice message

Head to Settings > Billing (or click here) and check for any unpaid invoices. You can pay these directly through our billing portal.

Updated card but still seeing errors

Make sure your payment method is correctly updated. Head to Settings > Billing (or click here), click Go to billing Portal, then select Update information.

Payment processed but still locked out after paying overdue invoice

Please contact our support team as we sometimes have to manually reactivate delinquent accounts.

If you've recently changed your credit card details, make sure to update them in your HelpDocs account too—this isn't automatic!

Accessing Invoices After Unsubscribing

Even if you've cancelled your subscription, you should still be able to access your billing information for a period of time after unsubscribing.

  1. Head to Settings > Billing (or click here)
  2. Click Go to billing Portal
  3. Select View invoices to access your billing history
If your account access has fully expired and you need copies of past invoices, please email us at hi@helpdocs.io with your account details.

Billing Best Practices

  • Regularly verify your payment method is up to date to avoid service interruptions
  • Set calendar reminders for renewal dates if you're on annual billing
  • Add a backup payment method if available on your plan
  • Ensure your billing email is actively monitored so you don't miss important notifications
  • If your company requires specific information on invoices (like PO numbers), update these details before invoice generation
