Updated by River Sloane

The new Block editor brings powerful interactive features that make formatting content faster and more intuitive. You can now access formatting tools directly where you need them, reposition images with simple drag-and-drop, and manage tables with visual controls.

🧱 This article refers to our new Block editor (Beta). Older articles may use our legacy text editor. You can upgrade an older article to the new Block editor at any time in the article's ☰ menu, or contact support to upgrade all articles at once.

Using the Mini Toolbar

The mini toolbar appears when you select text inside any text block, giving you instant access to formatting options right where you're working.

Here's how to use it:

  1. Highlight any text inside a text block
  2. The mini toolbar will appear above your selection
  3. Choose from formatting options like bold, italic, color, highlighting, and inline code styles

No more hunting through menus. Everything you need is right there ✨

Dragging Inline Images

Moving images around your articles is now as simple as clicking and dragging. To reposition an inline image:

  1. Click on the image you want to move
  2. Drag it to where you want it to appear in your article
  3. Drop it in the new location

The image will automatically insert itself at the new position, perfect for fine-tuning your content layout.

Enhanced Table Editing

Tables now have visual controls that make adding and removing content much more straightforward.

Adding Rows and Columns

Adding new table content is now visual and intuitive:

  1. Click on the border of your table
  2. You'll see the table highlight with plus icons
  3. Click a plus icon to expand the table with a new row or column

Deleting Rows and Columns

Removing table content is equally simple:

  1. Hover over the row or column you want to delete
  2. A red X button will appear on the outside edge
  3. Click the red X to delete that row or column
The new table controls make it easy to adjust your content structure without rebuilding entire tables from scratch.

These improvements make the block editor more responsive to how you naturally want to work with content. Less clicking through menus and more direct interaction with your articles.
