This is probably to do with an existing chat integration you have enabled. The email contact form gets disabled if you have one of the following integrations enabled in Settings > Integrations:

Fixing the Issue

  1. Head to Settings > Integrations (or click here)
  2. Check any of the above messaging integrations to see if they have been enabled or have code inside their editors
  3. Remove any content inside any of these integrations
  4. Hit Save Changes
  5. Head to Settings > Brand and make sure you have a contact form email entered

Your contact form should now show up for customers to post their questions. Enjoy 🙌

That still didn't fix it

Ooh a tricky one! Other causes of contact forms not appearing:

You've removed the contact button with Custom CSS, Javascript, or in your Custom HTML Template

Look for anything in your custom code that affects the contact form. If you're not a developer, you'll need to ask whoever originally made the modifications for help 👩‍💻

Your custom code is broken

If there's something in your custom code (CSS, Javascript, or HTML) that isn't quite right (missing a closing brace, improper HTML formatting, etc.) you'll need to correct that for your contact form to work correctly.

Bounced emails

If the email address you're sending contact forms to bounces, the form will temporarily be disabled. You can reactivate in Settings > General by the contact form email field.

Contact form usage limits

Occasionally the contact form can be automatically flagged for exceeding fair usage limits or other plan limits. If this is the case you'll see a message in Settings > General near your contact form email. This will let you know when the limit refreshes and how to reactivate your contact form.
